Content Federation Server

Simplify your connectivity architecture

"Our content hub helps companies increase architecture flexibility and simplicity and therefore control the integration costs of enterprise applications and content repositories."

Content hub - Content Federation Server

Every day, the number of content repositories existing in a company increases.
Most organizations deploy a search engine, a BPM solution, a collaboration framework and many other business applications. The applications create, store and use documents in various content repositories.

  Content Hub

The connectivity overview is complex, with a criss-crossing of information routes that brings to mind a spaghetti plate. This spaghetti plate includes connections between heterogeneous technologies. Specific developments rigidify the information system and diminish the system's flexibility and evolution capacities.

IT departments are therefore faced with the following challenges:
- simplify access to all content repositories
- increase capacity to connect all business applications to different content repositories
- organize connectors to simplify the connectivity architecture.

EntropySoft offers a simple and scalable architecture: a content hub.

With Content Federation Server you can:
- simplify the connectivity architecturea single entry point for accessing all unstructured data

- have a single entry point to access all unstructured data

- achieve more flexibility in case of content repository change
- have regularly updated and upgraded connectivity
- implement a federated search across all connected repositories

All connectors to content-centric applications are deployed in one place: EntropySoft’s Content Federation Server (CFS). This server is a middleware connecting all enterprise applications with all content repositories. The enterprise applications are easily plugged (or unplugged) in this content hub. The hub manages the connections with the content repositories, allowing seamless connectivity regardless of the application plugged into the content hub.

EntropySoft's content hub is a scalable product that allows you to add additional connectors progressively, as new applications are being introduced. Therefore, it is advantageous to start using it as soon as two applications need to be connected.

The Content Federation Server can host content transfer processes, when working in conjunction with EntropySoft Content ETL and also has many transversal features. Among the features, the server has a simple programmatic federated search capacity, based on an SQL-like query language.  The results are given by querying each application's index and aggregating them into a single list. It is therefore possible for any enterprise application to query easily all content repositories.

Content Federation Server is a very open platform providing access through different technologies (.Net API, Java API). The CFS API is very similar to the connector’s. This offers flexibility, since an integration done with the connectors can work easily with the content hub.

Moreover, Content Federation Server includes web services, allowing fast integration of any of the connected content repositories in a service oriented architecture (SOA).

The API is fully-documented, for easy use and understanding of EntropySoft technology.

Content Federation Server is using EntropySoft’s exclusive portfolio of read/write connectors to interact with more than 30 different content repositories.

The connectors enable most of the features of popular content-centric applications such as Alfresco, IBM FileNet P8, Hummingbird DM, Interwoven TeamSite, IBM Lotus Quickplace, Microsoft SharePoint etc…

Content Federation Server benefits for your company are:
- simpler connectivity architecture
- easy access to all content repositories
- increased architecture flexibility
- regularly updated and upgraded connectivity
